IT Support Engineer

¨         Provide second level IT Support on site at Dollar General Corporate facility in Goodlettsville, TN.

¨      Virus, malware, and spyware remediation. Used various tools such as Spybot, SCEP, Super AntiSpyWare, Forefront, and Cylance.

¨      Work with the Dollar General IT Security Group to identify machines that may be infected            with Trojans, spyware, ransom ware and other unwanted software on user machines. 

¨         Support Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7 and Windows XP machines. 

¨         Ensure that Windows updates, and virus definitions are current on each machine worked on.

¨         Each hard drive must be encrypted.  Also used Dell Encryption and Decryption tools to retrieve user’s information off of hard drives if the drive becomes inoperable.

¨         Ensure proper disposal of old hardware in preparation for sanitation.

¨         Use of Active Directory and Active Roles Server to manage user and computer accounts.

¨         Hardware supported includes various models of HP and Dell hardware.

¨         Use SCCM to provide remote support, image computers, push software and provide software inventory reports on machine with SCCM.

¨      Work with Microsoft on escalated calls involving SCEP to gather data to update the definitions for virus and malware protection.

¨         Work with vendors such as Dell and HP to arrange warranty work on desktops, laptops and tablets.

¨         Create documentation on installing software or knowledge base articles for assisting with resolving incidents.

¨         Mentor and train new employees that joined our team.
